Try lazlow's approach => lazlow is the person that also replied to your post (#4) and suggested using the package manager that your distro uses (if any, you don't mention your distro. not in your original post or in your profile).
This package is available for gentoo, debian, arch, ubuntu. These are just 4 I got when feeding google with linuxdcpp. Your distro/flavor is probably among them.

Kinda impossible to do. Anonymous ftp doesn't work.... => I generally don't trust (web)sites that are 'free' and do not support anonymous access.
i am using fedora core 6 right now.....
Is there any direct link to download the linuxdcpp.tar.gz file
I tried downloading the file using cvc[I dont know what is cvs]
To check out the CVS anonymously:
cvs -dserver:anonymous@cvs.linuxdcpp.berlios.de:/cvsroot/linuxdcpp login
(leave password blank)
cvs -z3 -dserver:anonymous@cvs.linuxdcpp.berlios.de:/cvsroot/linuxdcpp co linuxdcpp
i pasted the first url s in browser it directed to some other page
i also pasted the url in the terminal ..i got the following error message [fedora@localhost ~]$ cvs -dserver:anonymous@cvs.linuxdcpp.berlios.de:/cvsroot/linuxdcpp login
Logging in to server:anonymous@cvs.linuxdcpp.berlios.de:2401/cvsroot/linuxdcpp
CVS password:
Unknown host cvs.linuxdcpp.berlios.de.
How to download from this cvs links ??? [for the password i have pressed enter since it is given the page where i got the links]
Don't just use things you don know/understand.
I don't think cvs is for you (do you know how to compile stuff?).
More importantly: It looks like you are behind some kind of firewall/proxy because the berlios.de site is also unreachable for you. Are you aware that you have limited access to the outside world?
