Playing bad wav files kills all sound until logoff

The .wav file is here:
warnux.com/VVP/vvp.wav
Don't take that part of the site seriously - it was fun in school.

I have a .wav file that was created with a cell phone. It plays in Windows fine but when I try to play it in Linux, nothing will play it. Every time after I try to play it (no matter what application I used) my sound will not work until I log off and log on.

Please note: I can play other .wav files, just not that one.

1. Is there a bug in a sound library that any of you know about that would cause this?

2. When I lose my sound, can I fix it each time avoiding a log off? I tried, as root, "/etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart" but it did not help.

What media player are you using to play that file? Are you using a plugin to play it inside firefox? Whatever you are using launch
Code:
top
in a terminal and see if the player, plugin or browser is hung up. If so use kill, pkill, or xkill to kill it.

Mplayer in firefox is famous for hanging.

It's definately a shared library. I have lots of audio players installed. Every one of them will either lock up or not play the file. Yes, MPlayer in firefox locked up every time which is how I found the problem and began troubleshooting.

I killed an easier way:
Ctrl+Alt+Esc - click!
