which installed the multimedia kernel. I tried to follow the instructions for the dmix installation, but there is no alsa-base for Mandriva. Also, alsaplayer doesn't play any files. It only says :"No stream". It seems that dmix is only for Debian(I do have something called alsamix though). So, I'm still unable to play 2 files.
It turns out that alsa and dmix were present. I recompiled mplayer with alsa support and now I am able to play multiple mplayer files. Unfortunately, it seems that the macromedia flash sound cannot work simultaneously with the mplayer sound for instance. Also, a command like
Code:
artsdsp mozilla-firefox
doesn't work since firefox is 32 bit and my system is 64 bit and I don't see how I could install the 32 bit arts libraries(there are pages of dependencies when trying to uninstall the 64 bit libarts).
