Music is my passion and the main reason I switched to linux was because so many audio applications can be found for it (as in free ones). I followed the instructions on planet CCRMA
but I have a problem with the alsa thingy, the site said I should hear a sound when everything installed correctly but I didn't hear it and I got all [OK] lines when installing it.
The site mentioned that maybe i should turn off sound modules that loaded in red hat because they use resources that alsa need so I turnd everything with "snd" in it off but I'm not really sure I did it correctly
Can anybody help me to see if all ALSA stuff works correctly? If I enter "alsamixer" in the terminal I get some bars I can adjust, and while installing alsa it mentioned that I should unmute my soundcard but I think that's odd because I can hear sound while playing CD's or movie files.
edit: I'm playing an mp3 file with AlsaPlayer, does that mean alsa is working fine? I'can't get any sound from rosegarden4.
