Pidgin auto complete typing text

Is there a way for Pidgin to offer automatic text auto completion while you are typing? I like to use this in OpenOffice a lot and it does save me typing.

Are there any plugins or options to enable this?

If not, I wonder how are it would be to write a pidgin plugin to do this. I think auto completion for a chat program would be fantastically useful.

There's a plugin called "text replacement" which might do what you want.

I haven't used OOo in a while, but from what I remember, auto complete is when you start typing something, OOo sees it and then sort of autocompletes, if that's the right word, you can type tab or something and continue typing. Is that correct?

In that case, text replacement won't necessarily do what you want. But it offers something similar. For example when I write cuz, it changes it to because. And you have to enter each entry in manually. The plugin won't learn what you will most likely write.

But if you want something exactly like OOo's feature, I don't think one is available, so you would need to either develope it on your own, or find someone who knows how to program who is willing to develope something like that.
