Question Picture Viewer

I need a real simple linux picture viewer.

Preferably without linux directory display.

Basically Idiot proof.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

"I need a real simple linux picture viewer."

I use gimp. gimp is very complex, but viewing pictures in gimp is simplicity itself. I set up the file associations in KDE (you can do the same in gnome) so that when you click on the following file extensions in konqueror the file is displayed by gimp:

cgm
gif
jpeg
png
tiff
x-wmf
x-xbm
x-xcf-gimp
x-xpm

It is too slow to load gimp. A simple picture viewer is like gThumb or Compupic. I didn't make Compupic work in my system, but gThumb is real fast. There is also another software called ImageMagick which has a command 'display'. Real nice, too!!

Try also qiv is command-line based and you can edit some 'hotkeys' (using ImageMagick)
