picasa dies silently on opensuse 10.2

I've recently noticed that picasa won't start on my opensuse 10.2 machine. I've searched here and nobody seems to complain. Can I get some kind of log output from this thing ? The problem is that it dies without error message....

Start it from the command line in a terminal window. Entering Picasa should do it.

I did, and that's how I know there is no error message, nothing.... Anybody has any problem with it ? I've downloaded the latest version, to no avail...

It happens the same thing on my Slackware 12.0 too... No error message when launching from console, no nothing. It just won't start.
