phpmyadmin installation on fedora


hai all,

this is srinath.m

i am trining to get phpmyadmin like

http://localhost/webdb/ on browser then i am getting

Authantication Required Dialog

A username and password are being requested by http://localhost. The site says: "phpMyAdmin localhost"

asking username and password

i don't known username and password here, i tried with
user name: root password : none
user name: root password: srinath (my root login)

then also i am getting wrong username/password. Access denaied error

please tell me the solution to get phpmyadmin

First, I hope you realize that you JUST PUT YOUR ROOT PASSWORD ON THE INTERNET.

Second, did you reference the setup guide? (http://webmaster.iu.edu/tool_guide_i...pmyadmin.shtml) Specifically, the parts quoted here:

You may need to edit this .htaccess file to add additional users to the line:

require user myaccount

You will also need to edit the file /ip/myaccount/wwws/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php4. You must include information about your database in this file before running phpmyadmin.
