PHP not parsing code...

Hello, I have a weird problem. I've been running PHP just fine on a Cobalt Raq3 for over a year now. I've rebooted it several times, and everything came back just fine. The other day I turned it off and back on and all of the sudden PHP isn't parsing the <?php ?> tags (or <? ?>).

I checked in my /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and I have the statements...

LoadModule php4_module /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so
...
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html.var
...
AddHandler server-parsed .shtml
AddType text/html .shtml

There WASN'T anything under my virutal host for the web service that's running like:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

I added it back in, restarted and still no PHP processing?

Am I missing something?!

Thanks!

Do you get any errors in your "error_log"?

Maybe the module is failing to load.

Whoa, big problem now...

I saw in your post stating when all else fails to do an 'rm -rf /' and I'm getting a TON of problems now!!!

No, seriously, I think I figured it out. Somehow...yet it's still a mystery to me...that AddHandler line got removed from my httpd.conf file and a restart didn't fix it. I had to reboot the machine and it then worked.

Ghosts!?

Hey, thanks for the post, man.

Best Wishes,

LibertyBoy

That sounds a bit odd. Maybe apache didn't terminate properly and didn't actually restart.
