PHP install won't find GD?

I couldn't find a PHP-specific forum, so I hope you guys don't mind me asking this here.

I'm running Fedora Core 3, and I downloaded the source for GD (2.0.33) and PHP (4.3.11). First I configure, make, and install GD, and can't find any errors in the install. Then I run "configure" for PHP, and it says:

checking for GD support... no

What?

Any ideas on why this is happening?

I think you should run configure like this:
Code:
./configure --with-gd
It's possible that you need more options, so you'd better run this first
Code:
./configure --help

Well, that got it to at least claim in config that it was compiling with GD support, but when I check for compiled modules:

Code:
php -m
It only lists the following:

Code:
ctype
mysql
overload
pcre
posix
session
standard
tokenizer
xml
So I assume that means that GD was not properly compiled into it. What libs/headers does it look for, and where are they supposed to be?

If you installed gd yourself, you'd probably know where your base gd directory is.
Have you tried this yet?
Code:
./configure --with-gd=/dir/to/gd/
btw, you can find gd-libs here http://www.boutell.com/gd/

OK, got it. I just had to specify "with-zlib", "with-gd", and the proper include and lib paths.

Thanks!
