php as cgi


what do i have to install in order to run php as cgi app. and do i have to add someting to scripts like in perl?

btw i just want to install php not a web server i read the manual it says i have to have a web server do i need one i will run my cli scripts with it

cgi scripts are executed on a webserver, too.
but u can use php installed 'static' whereas usually it is compiled as an apache module. read php manual how to do that.
btw. what do u want to do with it?
