I am looking at trying to get Photoshop CS3 working on Linux (Wine/Crossover Linux) or is the best solution going to be using a VM solution, if it is the later can anyone reconmend a particular app. I have used virtualbox on WinXP, but have found it to be unstable, in particular when transfering files between the machine and VM environment (but knowing windows it could be an OS issue rather than the app).
dual boot will work best, but if you refuse to do that, then running winXP under VMWare is your next best option. that or buy a MAC and run CS3 native.
Is VMWare the best option, or would VirtualBox or an alternative work just as well.
FWIW I have CS3 running in WinXP as a guest OS on my Ubuntu box. I found that once I upped my RAM to 3GB it works flawlessly. Before that I had 1GB and it was a bit sluggish and unresponsive. Now I almost always have XP booted up in VMware in case I need to use Photoshop or Dreamweaver.
