Permission Denied on a RSH Connection

I am running linux 7.3 and i have installed enabled RSH in the services in Linux. Before i enabled RSH I got an error Connection Refused. Then after instaling it got permission denied. Not sure even where to start.

Any Input would be great thanks.

run this first:

chkconfig rsh on

and make sure that your fwall ruleset allows this connection.

Check your .rhosts file in the home directory of the user that you're trying to rsh in as. If you don't have that system_name/userid combo in there, it will fail.

Wink

If your .rhosts file is correct, you may have to also do a
chmod 600 on the .rhosts file.
