Back again. I'm trying to install Java from a downloaded bin file. I have su - but I still get permission denied. I've done this with a previous install, with no problems.

I went for the .bin file because that's all I've used. I eventaully want the RPM package. Not sure if that makes any difference. Will try a re-boot though.

Did a re-boot and nothing changed. Have just read about chmod and realised all I had to do was change the permissions of the file. Thanks.
