Perl Modules installation

HI ,

I am new to perl and need to use the modules writeexcel and parseexcel.

When i tried to execute im getting the following error
Can't locate Spreadsheet/WriteExcel.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.6.1/alpha-dec_osf /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.6.1 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/alpha-dec_osf /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at excel.pl line 4.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at excel.pl line 4.

If i need to install the modules whether they will work for 5.6.1 version?

Please help me to sort it out

As you are new to Perl, you may not know how to get that prompt, so
Code:
perl -e shell -MCPAN
cpan>
then as per knudfl

I guess you will have to try that yourself, but why shouldn't it work.

Very few people uses perl-5.6.1, not much chance we can test it for you,
unless a "local perl 5.6.1" is installed. ( Or a 9 year old OS.)
