PDA Toys - linux Replacements...
Good day everyone. I have a question for the larger Linux community out there. I had the sad chore of laying to rest my old Handspring Visor Deluxe after only three years. Well, because of that I had the joy of upgrading to a Sony Clie PEG-SJ33 and really like it.
Now for the question. Syncing with jpilot was a snap! I don't have a memory stick yet, but I can see that mounting that will be a snap too. However, I have not figured out how to utilize some of the abilities without resurrecting an old windows system. Software in question:

Is there any way to install photos for PG Pocket with out PictureGear? (maybe other programs you would substitute)
Will the audio player play regular MP3s if I just copy them over to a memory stick?
Is there any way to produce Kinoma movies in Linux?
How do you copy over audio wav or midi files without SoundConverter?
Well, these are the basics right now. I would really like to know if there is any way to do this without a windows system. Someday, maybe, companies will actually provide windows and Linux software. Thanks for any help, suggestions, comments, ideas, flames, random acts of postings. PhilD |
Just a quick update....
I have been googling around and have not found much of anything. There are plenty of sync software packages, but nothing that I have found to support conversions of png, jpg, etc.. file to .prc files. I have also not come up with any program that supports third party files such as splash photo or PictureGear. I haven't even gotten to the sound issue above. Anyone have any ideas?? PhilD |
