PCMCIA Problem
Right, sorry to those who recongise this problem from previous threads.
Right here goes. Distro: redhat 9 1) in /boot/grub/menu.lst i have to add nousb to the /vmlinuz etc If i dont do this, when it starts to load the pcmcia (starting pcmcia:) it just locks up the system. 2) Now my pcmcia comes up with: starting pcmcia Yenta 0A98 pci IRQ 5 30000827 OK I know this is a problem of some sort, so how do you sort this out. The pcmcia controller is O2micro oz6912/71160 smartcardbus according to windows..... I know i can get pcmcia-cs, but i have followed the instructions to the letter, and it seems to do nothing to the box i have redhat on. |
I read somewhere that you have to disable usb in order to get pcmcia to work in rh9.
Regarding #2, does it ever start? If it starts and works, why worry about what its called? |
Right, I have to disable usb, so I did this by placing nousb in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file
then pcmcia boots without hanging, but produces the yenta thinggy |
But does it work? In both slackware and gentoo, yenta is loaded to run my pcmcia.
