PC Card Initialization error when trying to run RedHat Linux 7.1 installer.
Hi,
I have a laptop (Gateway solo) that already has RHL 7.0 installed in it. I purchased RHL 7.1 and have been trying to run the installer. I placed the install CDROM and booted from the CD which allowed me to see the installation options. I chose Enter for standard GUI based installation.
At this point I get a window saying "Initializing PC Card..." and then it hangs up. I am new to Linux, so please excuse my ignorance revealed in my writing. The
PC Ethernet card I have is a 3Com 575-TX which is listed in the RedHat Hardware compatibility website as "Community Knowledge" which they meant (I called their tech support) that RHL does not suppport this PC card but someone has got a workaround. They recommended me to post my question in a usergroup. So, I thought I would send this to you with a hope to get some help.
Regards,
Iqbal Yusuff
