Partitions and Dual-booting.

Im looking to dual-boot Linux with another system.

I've partitioned my hard-drive...but I'm curious as to whether Linux can install itself onto a "Free Space" partiton instead of an "Unallocated" partition.

Any answers appreciated.

Hi, Welcome to LQ!

LQ has a fantastic search function that may save you time waiting for an answer to a popular question.

With over 3 million posts to search it's possible the answer has been given.

Most distribution install dvd's have the ability to partition the drive as required.

Just make sure you remember where the "other" os is, but this is pretty safe with current versions.

Regards Glenn

ps, scroll to the bottom of this page to see "similar threads", might be quicker.
