part_nowrite check:: No such file or directory

For some reason when I run LILO, I get the following error:

Warning: '/proc/partitions' does not match 'dev' directory structure
    Name change: '/dev/hda3' -> '/dev/hda3'
part_nowrite check:: No such file or directory

The weird thing is, when I look in /proc/partitions, I see the following line for hda3:

3 3 1 hda3

Even weirder is that I don't have anything installed on hda3... I tried removing this from '/proc/partitions' but I can't write to it. Any idea what's up? Thanks!

Note: I am ot doing a fresh install, this just spontaneously happened when I installed a new kernel (which I have done countless times). The compile went fine except when I did `make install' and this error came up when it ran lilo.

SOLVED: I just need to do the following and it worked again:

# cd /dev
# . MAKEDEV hda
# lilo

I had the same problem, fixed when I 'cardctl eject''d my PCMCIA flash card adapter.
