Palm Vx and RH9 issues
 

Now that I've finally bit the bullet and switched over to Linux instead of Windows and things have been going smoothly, I decided to set up my Palm Pilot Vx to synch with Evolution.

First off, I'm running RH9 and Evolution 1.4. My Vx has a serial cradle...so I'm using /dev/ttyS0. At first, everything goes swimmingly. I set up Evolution to recognize my Palm and I get my palm pilot to start synching.

But before it completes, I click on Pilot Settings from the Gnome Personal Settings pannel...and bam. I get an error saying that it crashed.

But now, ever since i got that error, Evolution will never recognize my Palm when I try to snych it. And if I click on Pilot Settings in Gnome, the menu never loads. Just nothing happens. Zilch. Nothing visibly crashes but the menu that displays my pilot settings never appears.

I'm not really sure what the problem is. If it's gnome or evolution. If I were in windows, I would uninstall and then re-install the software. But when I run 'rpm -qa | grep pilot' I get a list of 5 or so packages.

Is my best bet to remove all of them and reinstall them? Or is there a better (and smarter) way of solving the problem?
