palace installation
 

I am attempting to install The Palace for Linux (linpal-0.5) on Redhat 9. I get into the linpal-0.5 directory and issue the shell command make. After some processing the process fails with the message make: *** [gtkmain.o] Error 1

This makes we speculate that there is a problem with gtk in Redhat 9.
Any thoughts?

it might be having trouble finding the $PATH to gtk
