package updater not finding gcc which is installed

Hello:
I am trying to install the java development tools and eclipse that are located in the package management tool on FC4. I am getting a failed dependency message that libtool, gcc-c++, gcc-gnat, gcc-objc, and gcc-fortran cannont find gcc even though gcc is definately installed on my system (v. 4.0.2-8.fc4).

I am wondering if there is something I have to do to make the system find it? Even thought the gcc executable (gcc) is sitting in my /usr/bin directory and I have been using gcc and g++ to compile C and C++ programs for the past six months.

Thanks, this is very frustrating.

Can you post the errors you're getting?

Peace...

Actually I just used yum to install ant. I used 'yum install ant' and it installed all the dependencies. Go YUM!
