Package gpart fails to build on powerpc
Question is: How do I compile a package for little endian on big endian proceessors?
Gpart is known to build on arm-el, ia64, i386, and amd64. I'm using gcc 4.3 and have versions 3.4, 4.1, 4.2. Build environment is debian lenny, powerpc. |
'gpart' (( Not gparted )) :
""Guess PC disk partition table, find lost partitions"" ............ This is, what I found ... so far .. http://bugs.gentoo.org/19302 ,, http://bugs.gentoo.org/49878 http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubunt...verse/g/gpart/ > all architectures, incl. gpart_0.1h-4.1_powerpc.deb, the patches e.g. gpart_0.1h-4.1.diff.gz, which probably has a fix, an explanation ? for building "ppc" ..... |
Since I'll be running it from a ppc live disc, how do I add it to the build repos?
|
"AptGet Offline Repository" , may be ..
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ap...ine/Repository https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu ( The 'old archive' is no real repository ?, but I guess, you will find a way to keep the files on an USB stick.) ..... |
It's going to be installed on a debian PPC disk.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll do the usual crying and moaning before I get it to work. |
