Smile Output recorder

Joh people,

Do you people know a program or linux that records the output of your soundcard and save it as MP3?

I want to record some stuff from a OnlineRadio or a RealPlayer file.
I had something like that for windows, but I can't find it for Linux .

Greetz,
AliTriX

personally i'd just use mencoder to record the stream directly and then listen to the stream by playing it back with mplayer . also means you can pause live radio...
