Outlook Express for Linux - any old copies around?

I understand that there used to be a Linux version of Outlook Express. I haven't been able to find any download links. I know that MS has discontinued this, but I thought there might be an archive somewhere. Does anybody know? I'm trying to find a Linux newsreader that I can live with.

Thanks.

I just need a decent Usenet newsreader that doesn't need to handle RSS. I've played with T-bird, Pan, Knode and a number of others, but I haven't found the perfect one yet. The text-based ones aren't to my liking, though I admit that they're fast. I just thought that I should give old Outlook Express a spin, if indeed there's a Linux version still available.

I would stick with Pan, but I've got a persistent problem with quoted replies that may be specific to my system (see related post elsewhere on this forum).

Thanks.

i'm pretty sure that OE for Linux never existed.... really really sure actually.

OE does run fine under crossover office though, so you could buy that and run all of MS Office just fine.

At one point M$ did have a version posted - back in 1997 when they announced *nix support for MSIE and WMP. Linux was my primary OS at home at that point so I went back a few days later to download the programs and everything was removed except HP/UX and Slow^H^H^H^HSolaris versions. I also seem to recall (possibly incorrectly) that they had a "preview" build of MSIE for Linux but it was so long ago I don't remember for sure.

Sounds like it's truly a collector's item. I guess if it's that ancient I won't bother trying to find it. Nevertheless, you've got my curiosity up.
