I'm not an expert on linux, but but was just wondering whether it is possible to change the order in which Synaptic will install and remove programs. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean and what you want to do and why you want to do it. Can you go into a little more detail please.

It was to do with broken dependencies. I was trying to install libqt4-core but asus-qt4-i18n kept getting in the way. I was trying to remove the package but libqt4 kept trying to install itself first.
It doesn't matter anymore, as I just wiped my hard drive clean and started again. That solved my problem.
