Oralce 9i Install - segmentation fault

Running RHL9 and trying to install Oracle 9i. When I run the runInstaller - it looks like it runs and the spits out a "Segmentation fault" error message about 20 seconds later. I did a google search on "oracle segmentation fault" and see that most people link this problem back to the C libraries or a bad software copy, but no one states how to fix it. Advice or direction?
Thanks a million,
Mark
