oracle on Ubuntu gutsy


Hello all,

I have just installed oracle 10g r2 enterprise edition the "Runtime" installation and I seem to be missing the lsnrctl, does oracle no longer need this because I also can not log in either now:

I'm using 10g on a couple of boxes - the listener is required. What steps did you use to install it on your box?

I just followed the setup, selected administrator, however after the first installation failed i tried a couple of other installations, ive just downloaded oracle 11, hoping it will be better.

I used the info here - it needs tweaking for non-redhat based distros though.
