OpenVPN and CISCO VPN

My UNIV uses a CISCO VPN client to get us to access wireless around campus; and this forces me to use WindowXP when I am at work. I would like to know if the openVPN client for linux will work on my Linux system (dual booted).
1. Where to get openvpn?
2. Installation instructions?
3. Any special configurations? to get access ?

Any help is appreciated,
best,
Smiley

why does this force you to use XP? cisco provide a linux client too. also there is the vpnc client, adn open source alternative. you can't use any old "client" instead, vpn's take many many different forms.
