Opensuse, Ubuntu, Mint do not recognize USB3.0 External HDD during installation

Opensuse, Ubuntu, Mint do not recognize USB3.0 External HDD during installation,
I booted the live CD, and chose installation,
I plugged in my USB3 external HDD for installation,
but it prompted me that it can not load /dev/sdb,
if I plug the External HDD to USB2.0 port, then it is ok. But after installation, it does not boot from USB3.0 port, I am forced to use USB2.0 port which is slower.
I defeats my purpose of buying a USB3.0 HDD.

However, Fedora is ok to recognize the USB 3.0 port external HDD and install nicely.

Why like that?

Anyone understands why is it like that?

My guess is that USB 3.0 drivers aren't present on the installer disc. You have me thinking now that my shiny new USB 3.0 disc is just running as USB 2.0.

My external HDD got a LED light,
when it is connected to USB 3 port, it shows blue light,
white light to USB 2 port,
The Fedora , Opensuse etc do recognise the Disk when connected to both USB 3 and 2 ports,
but when come to installation, the /dev/sdb of the disk was not recognized.

I do not know why?

I managed to install Fedora 18 Beta on my Desktop HDD.

You need the latest OpenSuse and it might be supported.

Why? USB 3 needs hardware support.

May I suggest you edit your posts instead of adding to the original.
