Openoffice to video
Hi
I have installed OpenOffice in ubuntu 10.04 and made a small slideshow. saved as ODP and OTP files. I would like to make it into some format acceptable by Youtube so i can uploaded.
I will Appreciate for any help. Thanks in advance. george

Install RecordMyDesktop, record the slideshow, convert it to *.avi with mencoder or ffmpeg, then upload the *.avi.
RecordMyDesktop is in the Ubuntu repos. You will likely need to install lame and possibly jack (if there's audio), which are also in the repos, if you don't already have them installed.

you can use the terminal program GMic
put the photos in a folder
input the file list with a pause and output to a .mpg

Thanks frankbellfor answering so fast my post! being new to Ubuntu, I have installed RecordMyDesktop and ffmpeg, because it's easier for me and i don't know the command terminal way. But i can't find the RecordMyDesktop program. please help George

Thanks, Jefro. I don't do many slideshows, so I didn't know they had implemented that.
georgecyros, good job to figure that out yourself.
You'll probably have a little learning curve, but, once you get the hang of it, it's pretty straightforward. And RecordMyDesktop is a very useful program to know.

with all the information I gathere from you guys, I have manage to do my slide show as follow:
1. used Openoffice Presentation saved the file as .odp file
2. used gtk-recordMydesktop and saved the file as .ogv file
3. used Pitivi video editor and saved the file as .flm file because is half the size of .AVI
4. and Uploaded on Youtube as flm file.Thank you all for your help, very grateful!!!

Hi Jefro, the openoffice Presentation, I have is version 3.2 and I couldn't see any flash format to save. Is't newer versions have the flash format? George
