OpenOffice.org QuickStarter?

Here is an excerpt from a file included with Ubuntu:

OpenOffice.org is a full-featured office productivity suite that provides
a near drop-in replacement for Microsoft(R) Office.

This package contains the Gtk plugin for drawing OOo's widgets with
Gtk+ and a Gtk/GNOMEish File Picker when running under GNOME. It also
contains a QuickStarter for the "notification area".

I am trying to find a program that loads OOo in the background, whenever I am in GNOME, that way whenever I decide to write something, OpenOffice.org will open the window just as fast as it does when I go File ==> New when OpenOffice.org is already open. This package is installed, yet I don't see anything in the notification area, nor could I determine from a breakdown of files included with this package, how to launch the QuickStarter feature.

Start the program, go to: Tools-->Options-->OpenOffice.org-->Memory. There's a check box to use the Quickstart option.
