Talking openoffice.org errors out Fatal exception: Signal 6

I just installed Slackware 14 dual boot - setting up openoffice - compiled or build SlackBuild then installed ran it when I started it off the menu it just goes to the insert name info then does not start up -- in xterm it showed me the errors after the splash screen enter your name info, this is what it read:

####

Application Error

/usr/bin/soffice: line 120: 2769 Aborted "$sd_prog/$sd_binary" "$@"
bash-4.2$

######

I have no idea what all of that means -- then I figured it was the JDK or JRE so I DL that and java.SlackBuild then installed it returned the same errors, removepkg openoffice.org reboot then instalpkg again and I get the same errors --

does anyone out there understand all of that output and can help me it would be thanked

Or get it from the Salix repository: 100% compatible with Slackware and ready to run.

thanks for the >>input but I think I'll stick with Slackware -- Salix has too many unwanted changes in it
