OpenOffice: numbering in boldface

I want to create a numbered list with the numbers in boldface. I assume that I need to create a new style in order to achieve that, but I can't make sense out of the information in the Help. The help file says:
Quote:

Choose Format - Bullets and Numbering. Open Options tab page
Open Styles and Formatting - Numbering Styles - context menu of an entry - choose New/Modify
But when I open the Options page under Bullets and Numbering, I don't see a subheading for Styles and Formatting. If I open Format / Styles and Formatting, there's nothing there about Numbering. And none of the things I've tried offer an option to create a new numbering style.

How can I get my boldface numbering?

If you open the Styles and Formatting popup (Format > Styles and Formatting)
Select the Character styles tab
Right click Numbering Symbols in the list and select modify.
Then change the typeface on the Font tab.
Done.
