OpenOffice javaldx error only for user?

Okay now I just installed OpenOffice on Slack, I had it working fine on Red Hat and now on Slack its giving me some difficulties. Installation goes without a hitch, however, when I try and run it as a normal user I get this error:

Quote:
javaldx: could not create link of name: /usr/local/bin/program/../user/temp/java/a which links to /usr/lib/j2sdk1.4.2_01/jre/lib/i386/client, symlink error: -1
After I close the program all this stuff spits out:

Quote:
Fatal exception: Signal 11
Stack:
/usr/local/bin/program/libsal.so.3[0x40bc4e4a]
/usr/local/bin/program/libsal.so.3[0x40bc4fd4]
/usr/local/bin/program/libsal.so.3[0x40bc509a]
/lib/libpthread.so.0[0x41118c45]
/lib/libc.so.6[0x412d6988]
/usr/local/bin/program/libsal.so.3(rtl_uString_acquire+0x1f)[0x40bd17ff]
/usr/local/bin/program/libcfgmgr2.so[0x427f51dd]
/usr/local/bin/program/libcfgmgr2.so[0x427f5a8a]
/usr/local/bin/program/libcfgmgr2.so[0x427e23dd]
/usr/local/bin/program/libcfgmgr2.so[0x427e2503]
/usr/local/bin/program/libcfgmgr2.so[0x427a491e]
/usr/local/bin/program/libcfgmgr2.so[0x427a2bc2]
/usr/local/bin/program/libcfgmgr2.so[0x42797546]
/usr/local/bin/program/libcfgmgr2.so[0x42797fd9]
/usr/local/bin/program/libvos3gcc3.so(_ZN3vos27_cpp_OThread_WorkerFunctionEPv+0x14)[0x40b27f66]
/usr/local/bin/program/libvos3gcc3.so(_Z23_OThread_WorkerFunctionPv+0x1f)[0x40b27f4b]
/usr/local/bin/program/libsal.so.3[0x40bba53d]
/lib/libpthread.so.0[0x41112ca3]
/lib/libc.so.6(__clone+0x57)[0x4138ec97]
Now I know the problem must be that a normal user doesn't have access to these files, however, is there another way to get this working besides chmod'ing everything? It seems as though there must be a better way. Also the problem it is causing is it makes it so my settings don't get saved, which is real pain in the ass. Thanks!
