ctrl-alt-esc doesn't seem to work with me.

Never mind, it is not --that-- important.
Just used to it in 9 and 9.2

I tried both, nothing happened.
Tried on 9.2 and 10

sorry, I have to take that back.
It works on 9.2 ( using it right now ),
but it takes a lllooonnnggg time to come up.

I will try later in 10 ( should work there too )

Maybe you can make a keyboard shortcut for something a bit different. Like ctrl->alt->k.
The command would be "xkill"
