openoffice crash at start

We share a computer (mandrake 9.1) at a student bar (where I work part time). The problem is that people ftp stuff and sometimes fill up the home partition, which is what happened the other day. Openoffice was open and a document got zeroed (0 bytes...) which is very bad. The problem is openoffice won't start now. All I get is:

no element found at line 1, column 0, byte 0 at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/XML/Parser.pm line 185

so I deleted the .openoffice folder. Openoffice still won't start. Anybody know how to get openoffice working again? Also how to prevent openoffice from zeroing documents.

/thanks

I figured it out thanks to the oooforum.org. I first tried out to delete the .openoffice folder. No success. After that I did setup with the repair option as su (from /usr/lib/openoffice/setup). No success only an error message:

[user@localhost ~]$ ooffice
Application ErrorAbort

or as su

[root@localhost]# ooffice
Application ErrorAborted (core dumped)

Finally a friend noticed that the /var partition was almost full and the urpmi packages couldn't fit. So by sym-linking the urpmi folder to another partition the problem seems to be solved.

Hope it helps if anybody else gets a similar problem.
