there is a subdirectory containing a rpm for redhat menus.

thanks

that means we have change the desktop files in redhat menus rpm
The previous are redhat-spreadsheet.desktop etc
but in openoffice-2.0 the names of desktop files are calc.desktop
so,can u plz tell me whether i have to override the previous version desktop files in redhat menus rpm
so that the icons will be visible on panel

I think you missed what mrcheeks was getting at. There is a subdir (desktop integration) when you untar/unzip the OpenOffice file. After installing OpenOffice2.0 you go into the subdir and look for your distro or the closest one to it. Install that rpm and your menu icons will show up with OpenOffice2 on them.
