If I understand you right you don't remember which program you created the file with? Use kword to open the file.

Cool

kword comes with koffice and i am using fc3.
I downloaded koffice but it asks for kdebase and kdelibs dependencies. These are basic dependencies. Can i get kword as an modle seperately.
All Suggestions are welcome.

Well, use it. Its obviously there for a reason and thats to make life easier for you. It will install the package for you and automatically resolve the dependencies.

It seems to be a new bie question but try to consider me as newbie in yum
When i am trying to do the command
yum install koffice
the following error persists

You have enabled checking of packages via GPG keys. This is a good thing.
However, you do not have any GPG public keys installed. You need to download
the keys for packages you wish to install and install them.
You can do that by running the command:
rpm --import public.gpg.key

Can I solve this?

Feel free to ask any questions.
To fix the yum gpg problem do as root
Code:
#rpm --import /usr/share/rhn/RPM-GPG-KEY /usr/share/rhn/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora
After that istall the packages you need with yum.

Are you connected to the web? If you are, are you behind a proxy server?.

Take a look here for a workaround if using a proxy server.
