Open windows in rox create icons

I have just installed Fluxbox on my Ubuntu system along with rox for desktop icons. After playing with it for hours i finally have some of it figured out. I have 2 problems now. One is whenever I have an open window like Firefox or Thunderbird it creates an icon on my desktop. Any way I can get rid of them? Also, I'm still not completely sure how to create icons. I saw something about dragging things onto the pin board but I don't know what. The binary? And if I drag that onto the desktop, how does the icon get there? Thanks.

Right click in the Rox folder, choose options go to Pinboard, iconify windows and unmark.
