Open office- menus are all unreadable

Hi im a new guy

After trying to install for the wrong reasons,

XFree86-devel-4.3-8.2mdk.i586
XFree86-libs-4.3-8.2mdk.i586

on mandrake 10.1,

My openoffice menus are all gibberish and unreadable.

Does anyone have an idea?

Actually these two packages didnt succed in installing themselves.

Well, probably what happened is since the packages didn't install all the way, they probably overwrote some files but not all. That then probably caused an incompatability with some libraries, and messed up your OO.o menus. I'd try backing up your Xorgconfig/XF86config file and reinstalling X.

Thanks

Thanks for your answer.

So Ive checked it out. So you mean i have to save this file usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config?

About X Window system, i don't see it installed in the packages of mandrake 10.1, when i use the graphical interface. Maybe its under another name? Or is Xorg... = X Window system?
To reinstall it, should i use a terminal? But then what should i do?

thanks again
