Open Office look and feel
For the interface color, I feel the color is too bright for me, in Windows, MS office interface color is more like grey, and I feel comfortable for my eyes. Is it possible to change that interface color, I mean like menu background color.
Also, when I use the mouse to point to an icon menu, it has black as background color, and the icon will turn to white, is it possible to change this as well? In the Tools->Options->OpenOffice.org->view, I can select look and feel, it has mac, windows or something like that, after I change it, it doesn't have too much different though, so do I miss something? Thanks. |
Not quite sure what problem you have run into,
but for me the default colour scheme has a nice, dark gray interface (pretty much the same colour that an inactive tab in Mozilla has) ... I don't have any troubles with icon backgrounds changing colours. What version of OO are you using? And what's your version of XFree, which Graphics driver are you using, what's the gfx card? Cheers, Tink |
I use OO 1.1 and GForce4MX 400(if I remember it correctly). I think the version of XFree and driver are the latest ones.
Also I have another question is that OO will automatically show the complete words that I have typed in the document. I feel that is quite annoying tho. So could you tell me where I can disable that feature? Thanks. |

drivers since I have it running on 4 non-NVidia machines without any problems (Matrox, ATI, Voodoo3, i845) ... Quote:
menu or the help yet? I've never wanted to turn it off (I find it quite helpful, really), but found the way to turn it off in 30 seconds ... Look at Tools -> AutoCorrect/AutoFormat ... in the following dialog look at the tab AutoCompletion ... un-tick the top check box. Cheers, Tink |
I think you are more referring to the GUI toolkit of your Desktop Environment rather than messing with cards, try the -> KDE, Gnome, etc... options for GUI style
in KDE Control Center it would be Appearance and Themes > Style and pick ones like acqua, keramik for Mac styles, or Motif for more bland X window sytle, and .NET I tihnk is the play on Windows sytle Is that more what you mean? |
thanks, Tinkster, noeffort.
I think Tinkster got what I was saying. However, don't know how to change that look and feel. best regards, ico |
