Open office gone Spanish?

When I run OpenOffice, it loads and runs in Spanish. This has happened since I started using MDK 10 after MDK 9.1. All other programs are working fine. Can someone suggest how I can get OpenOffice to use English as I do not speak Spanish, therefor can not really change the settings inside OpenOffice.
Also what programs allow me to save documents in MS word format, as untill Linux gains the market, making a CV using Kword is great, untill the VIPs can't open it using MS Word. I know who is at fault, but am not a developer so just need the easy solution for now.
Thanks
