Open office crazy boot up time

Hi folks,

I've "upgraded" to Mandriva 10.2 from 10.0 (I use the inverted commas advisedly) and with this package comes Open Cffice 1.1.4.

Now, Open Office was always slow at booting, but this version goes beyong the pale. It takes two minutes to boot!

This just cannot be right can it? I was running an earlier version on Mandy 10.0, and 9.x before it, which were slow to boot, but you could cope. This time - two minutes - it's just rediculous.

Do other people find the same, or have I got something odd going on with my installation?

Cheers,

Rob

Check to see if you have OpenOffice.org Quickstarter installed. It basically preloads OO. Depending on the document you are trying open it will take longer to open. Your best bet is to open the program then file>open the document you want to open.

I do always open the program first - it's that that takes two minutes to boot!

How do I tell if the Quickstart is installed?!
