that really worked!!!
i'm on my linux box right now!

do u know what i did wrong!??
i did install the two packages for my nvidia card
and i modified that XF86Config file!

do u know why it didn't work!??

Probably the nvidia kernel module not being loaded before the X server starting.

Is it working ok now? or do you have to boot directly to a GUI login?

nope, is not working!

all i did was... install the two packages for my
nvidia card and i modified that XF86Config file!

then i restarted and i got no video so i have to change
my run level to 3 and mod my XF86Config file again to
restore everything back to normal! the way it was!
but i don't what i did wrong or if i'm missing stuff!
any ideas!??

What two packages did you download and what did you modify in your x config file.

i did install:
- NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.i386.rpm
- NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.rh80up.i686.rpm

and on the /etc/X11/XF86Config i modified:
"device" section:
- Driver "nv"
to
- Driver "NVIDIA" *i don't remember if upper or lower case!*

"modules" section:
added this line:
- Load "glx"
- and some other gcore stuff that i don't remember!

Ok, re-edit your X config for the nvidia driver, modprobe nvidia and do startx, then look at /var/log/XFree86.0.log and post the error message, not the whole log, just the errors (you'll see them near the end).
