Online radio stations
Hello All,
I am wondering what program should I use to listen to radio stations online? I have xmms... The one that is installed with Suse 9.2. There is a downloadable file, but there is not instructions to how to install it. When I used Fedora Core 2... it was easy to install programs using Yum. Thanks Shadzilla |
I use streamtuner which has a bunch of stations to choose from. That sure beats googling all day trying to find internet stations.

Right click on XMMS and go to "play location" and enter the http:// of the site you want to listen to. A good site for online music (i think) is

Hello All,
I am not sure if I posted my question right... My web browser doesn't have the right plugin for me to listen to www.630ched.com for example. Where do I get the plugins, or can I use XMMS? Thanks Shadzilla |
Hello All,
My web browser is Firefox. Thanks Shadzilla |
Read their FAQ's, it says they doesn't support Linux users...
Question: Can I listen with a Linux/Unix machine? Answer: Sorry, we currently only support PC and MAC users. Return to FAQs If you want to listen to it that bad, you can install Wine and run Internet Explorer in it to listen to their radio station. |
I just installed streamtuner and I have it configured to use mplayer.
I get better sound quality out of mplayer than I get out of xmms in this application. Streamtuner, to this point, is the best solution I have seen to the problem of finding/listening to internet radio. It also has a section for user configured stations, letting you enter the url for your favorite just once, and use it forever. |

You might fiddle with mplayer options and have some success. |
