Ogle problem

So im running FC3 under GNOME and I do

yum install ogle

and it instlalls it all 3 thigns that it needs and also but I wanted the GUI so I downloaded the GUI RPM and then got the gui
·

I do

ogle -u gui /media/cdrom

Its a 16x Lite-On DVD-ROM thats recognized by Fedora but it just shows up as a cdrom and when i open the /media/cdrom folder I see all of the DVD movie files. However when I enter that terminal command I get the GUI to appear and the movie window but I just get a WARNING message about copyright laws, which I usually see when I watch a movie in my DVD player, but it usually goes away. I try choosing a chapter or hitting play or all the other buttons but it never goes away... How do I get it to play my DVD movie or show the main menu and crap or is the DVD detecting its linux and it just doesnt wanna run with Linux or what? This is a legit retail copy of Spy Games Collector Edition, but I will try loading some other DVDs to see if it works with a different movie.

i haven't used ogle for days and even when i was, i didn't use any of the commands from the command line. but if i had to guess, it looks like you've mounted your dvd drive (you said you could see dvd files in your file browser). using xine and mplayer, i know you don't need to mount the drive to play a dvd (haven't tested either to see if the dvd will play if you did mount the drive). but for ogle, i've always used the shortcut which executes 'ogle'.

try to just run the command 'ogle' and open the dvd using the Menubar items ---> File > Open Disc

and see if that will start up your dvd. like I said before, I haven't used ogle for ages, so i don't even know if i'm running a current version or not nor do i know if this will help you at all. of course, it could very well be the dvd in that there have been a few trouble dvds for linux media players to play.
