Ogg/Vorbis - Is there a Audio Normalizer?

I ripped a bunch of CDs tonight and they all seem to max out (low/high end distort). Was wondering if anyone has/knows of a Normalizer what can normalize the vorbis file itself, without having to revert to wav format.

Nothing is listed on there site(s) about such a utillity.

Thanks.

I really am thinking no on this...

Normally I use normalize right after the rip, since I rip to wav first, then convert to ogg (yes to me it's all one swift step, but it's actually 3 in 1).

If there aren't too many, and you haven't spent a great load of time ripping them, you might wanna start over, this time normalizing, then converting.

Cool

MasterC,

Are you using a script to do the 3 steps in one or a GUI app? If script, could you share with us? If GUI app, which one?

Thanks.

Normalize with what? I use Grip and have 'calculate gain adjustment' , dunno what that does really :) Most of the CDs sound OK but the EQ in xmms is hittin the tops on the low and high end.

I normalize with normalize :D ;)

Also, check out http://www.nostatic.org/grip/doc/ripconfig.html

This contains info about adding normalize in the wav options portion of the grip rip opitions :)

Cool
