ocr for slovak hunagarian and spanish under (Mandrake 10, kernel 2.4.22.10mdk
Good evening:
I would appreciate a piece of advice about OCR
I need a sacanner just for OCR if possible in slovak, hungarian and spanish,
Do the sofware that HP includes with the scanner work under linux, i mean Readiris.
I know that under gnu exists oocr, ocrad and CLARA from this page linux-ocr.ekitap.gen.tr
I was said that 1200*1200 dpi and even less is enough for OCR, can anyone confirm that?.
However, it is possible that your Windows software runs in Wine. And if it can't do the actual scanning, then maybe it will still do the OCR process from the image you scanned in Linux...
thank you very much. have you ever heard of using the output of a digital camera /for instance a shot of a page of an old book/ to use it as an input for a OCR software?
Please, ask me, if i did not make myself clear, thanks again, urana
